Blake has managed companies and sales teams through both challenging market conditions and strong growth periods, giving him a practical understanding of the financial pressure that sits behind sales performance.
He understands how an underperforming sales team can impact forecasting, cash flow, profitability, team momentum and wider business confidence, as well as how a high-performing sales function can create stability, growth and stronger commercial decision making.
Blake has sold into and worked with a broad range of customers, from major retailers and government organisations through to independent hardware stores, small family businesses, wholesale networks and international trade customers.
Blake’s commercial background extends beyond recruitment and sales management, with hands-on experience in business growth, international market development, supplier relationships and commercial expansion across multiple industries.
This includes opening and developing trade opportunities throughout New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, including Papua New Guinea, East Timor, Solomon Islands, Samoa and New Caledonia, through direct market prospecting, relationship building and on-the-ground business development.
Blake has also supported international expansion initiatives within the ceramics and building products sector, including helping establish trade into Brazil, assisting Chinese ceramic manufacturers entering the Australian market, and supporting the development of startup wholesale businesses through supplier partnerships with major manufacturers in China.
